Correlation means two things happen together, whereas causation means one thing *causes* the other to happen. Distinguishing between them is critical for product decision-making.

What is a common "correlation trap" in SaaS?
A common trap is assuming that "Users who use Feature X have higher retention" means "Feature X causes retention." It might just be that high-intent users (who would retain anyway) are the only ones finding Feature X. Only controlled experiments (A/B tests) can prove causation.
